  • Caring Center needs for August 2010 - Food/other items needed at the Caring Center and Classic Reruns.
  • Reporter Network - The Lebanon Reporter has launched Reporter Network, an exciting new webcasting venture. The first full live webcast will be the debut of Zionsville’s new football stadium as the Eagles take on McCutcheon at 7 pm on Friday, August 27, 2010. The webcast features play-by-play by RadioMom and follows their schedule for the rest of the season (September 3 will be WeBo vs. Danville archive only). Reporter Network will also archive the game so viewers can return to watch the game again to catch that big play or controversial call. To watch this one-of-a-kind local network on your computer or mobile device, go to www.reporter.net. Click on the Reporter Network button.
  • Early Readers Club - United Way of Boone County has launched the Early Readers Club to promote childhood literacy. By registering today, your preschool child or grandchild can receive 12 high-quality books a year for just $20. Scholarships are available. Please go to www.uwci.org/erc to start your child on a lifelong journey of learning.
  • GED Classes are held at ARC Rehab in Lebanon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration/Intake is required to attend classes and is held on the first Thursday of each month at 9:00 - 11:30 am. For additional information visit the Boone County Learning Network website and look under GED Information.
  • Shalom Free Lunch - Every Saturday for everyone from 11am-1pm at Shalom House (304 W. Green Street, Lebanon). Everyone welcome!

* (Updated date) Sunday & Monday, September 5 & 6, 2010 - Advance Labor Day Festival sponsored by the Advance Volunteer Fire Department. Events include a parade, live entertainment and a variety of arts and crafts. Event listing/flyer (PDF).

* Wednesday, September 8, 2010 - (Date change!) Boone County Youth as Resources Grant Workshop from 6:30-7:30 pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market Street, Thorntown, IN). Youth groups may apply for up to $1,200 per grant. Youth groups must have an adult advisor and a not-for-profit sponsor, which may be a school, church, youth-serving or community agency. Any youth group interested in applying should attend a Grant Workshop along with their adult leader to receive information and a grant application. The group should have at least 2-3 youth representatives attend the workshop, in addition to the adult leader. The workshops will include suggestions for project ideas and project budgets as well as information about what board members look for in a grant proposal. Boone County Youth as Resources (YAR) holds one grant cycle per year – each fall. The 2010 deadline is Friday, October 15. * Friday-Sunday, September 10, 11, & 12, 2010 - 57th Annual Zionsville Lions Club Fall Festival at Lions Park in Zionsville. The annual Fall Festival will consist of a parade (Kiwanis Club), entertainment, carnival, food court, commercial tent, outside commercial spaces, arts and crafts tent, outside arts and crafts spaces, kids’corner, pet pavilion, fireworks and more.

* Saturday, September 11, 2010 - 57th Annual Zionsville Fall Festival Parade — the parade will step off at 10:45 am from Zionsville Community High School. The parade theme is "Heroes." Participate with an entry in the parade or just come to cheer and watch. More parade info and entry forms. The parade is held in association with the Zionsville Lions Club's Fall Festival at Lions Park.

* Saturday, September 11, 2010 - Lebanon's Lincoln Festival from 1-7 pm at the Herr Cabin at Lebanon Memorial Park. Abe Lincoln (portrayed by Abraham Lincoln presenter Mr. Randy Duncan of Illinois) will give a speech at Herr Cabin. Alsot, civil war presentations,carriage rides, musical groups playing period music, vendors selling their wares, demonstrators showing how life was, children's games, food booths, and photo shoot with Mr. Lincoln. Sponsored by the Boone County Historical Society and Lebanon Community Arts Council.

* Saturday, September 18, 2010 - Annual Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department and Jackson Township Historical Society All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 am in Jamestown.

* Saturday, September 18, 2010 - 5K Rock-n-Roll Run & Walk at 8 am in Lebanon. Held during the Back to the Fifties Festival and sponsored by the Symphony at Sunset Group, Inc., this 5K is great for runners and walkers of all ages and levels. Entry form available by going to www.symphonyatsunset.org, Lebanon Public Library or the Parks Department office.

* Saturday, November 6, 2010 - Cream of the Crop: A celebration benefiting Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center at 6:30 pm in the Traders Point Creamery rustic red barn with white linen table cloths, music appetizers, dinner, drinks, auction and designer desserts. The emcee will be Ray Cortopassi. Hear and see some of the miraculous stories that take place at Morning Dove.
