Books, magazines, audiobooks and videos may be purchased for a donation to the Friends group. Book Sale will be in the meeting rooms 116 and 120. * Wednesday, May 15, 2013 - Plant Swap and Friends Annual Meeting at 6:30pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). Speaker will be Rita Trafford speaking about her first novel, "A Place Called Forever". Anyone who wishes to share plants may bring them for a 6-8pm swap; it is also permissible to take plants home without bringing any. American Heritage Girls is a faith-based Christan scouting organization. This program is for girls in Kindergarten-High School. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). The Sugar Creek Home Extension Club has arranged for a special presentation following their May 20 meeting. "A Girl of the Limberlost," a one-woman show based on the novel by Indiana author and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter, will take place. This presentation is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. * Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - LEGO Club from 4:45-5:45pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). The library will provide LEGO and Duplo building blocks and all ages are invited to attend. Creations built during the LEGO Club meeting will be on display in the Youth Department for a few weeks following the program. Classes will cover mouse and keyboard use, and introduction to Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint), Accessibility features, and searching the Internet. The classes must be taken sequentially. Registration is required, as class size is limited to six. There will be a $5 non-refundable registration fee for the class. Cost of registration will include a USB flash-drive that will include all class notes and will be given to participants following the final class. Join us for the unofficial beginning of the 4th of July Festivities in beautiful Lebanon, Indiana! 2013 marks the 5th year for the annual "Red, White, and Blues" festival, featuring live music, wine tasting, art exhibits, and the ever popular, frog jumping competition! Family friendly and admission free, this year's festival features a very special group of musicians, "Joybox Express!" Traveling from Michigan, these musicians "ride" in style as they carry a full piano and other equipment on a trailor, with their bicycles! Annual Fall Powwow at the Boone County Fairgrounds (1300 E 110 S, Lebanon, Indiana 46052). Hours are 10 am - 9 pm on Saturday, and 10:30 am - 4:30 pm on Sunday. Grand Entry at 1:30 and 7 pm on Saturday, and 1 pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 for ages 13-59, $2 for children ages 6-12, and $2 for Elders 60+. Children 5 and under are free.
