• Boone County Community Clinic Open for Extended Hours - The clinic is now open for extended hours from 5pm until 8pm Monday thru Thursday, and from 8am until noon on Saturdays. These after-hours times are reserved for first-come, first-serve walk-in appointments, and are open to all Boone County residents, insured and uninsured alike. The Clinic is able to bill with several local insurances, and if you are uninsured, appointments start at only $50. No appointments necessary, but certain restrictions apply, as some services must take place at scheduled appointments during regular service hours. The clinic is located at 404 W. Camp St. in Lebanon (across the street from Walgreens). • Early Readers Club - United Way of Boone County has launched the Early Readers Club to promote childhood literacy. By registering today, your preschool child or grandchild can receive 12 high-quality books a year for just $20. Scholarships are available. Please go to www.uwci.org/erc to start your child on a lifelong journey of learning.
• Shalom Free Lunch - Every Saturday for everyone from 11am-1pm at Shalom House (304 W. Green Street, Lebanon). Everyone welcome!
• Zionsville Toastmasters Club - meets weekly on Monday nights from 6-7 pm at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, Zionsville Indiana. Members and guests are invited to share in the opportunity to become more skilled communicators and effective leaders. We have fun, while adding value to ourselves and others in a supportive environment.

* Wednesday-Saturday, May 15-18, 2013 - Spring Book Sale from 9am on Wednesday through 2pm on Saturday at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). Books, magazines, audiobooks and videos may be purchased for a donation to the Friends group. Book Sale will be in the meeting rooms 116 and 120.

* Wednesday, May 15, 2013 - Plant Swap and Friends Annual Meeting at 6:30pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). Speaker will be Rita Trafford speaking about her first novel, "A Place Called Forever". Anyone who wishes to share plants may bring them for a 6-8pm swap; it is also permissible to take plants home without bringing any. Meeting and plant swap will be in the meeting rooms 116 and 120.

* Thursday, May 16, 2013 - American Heritage Girls (AHG) Troop Meeting from 6:30-8 pm at the Lebanon Bible Baptist Church (1530 Riley Rd. in Lebanon). * Monday, May 20, 2013 - A Girl of the Limberlost at 7:30pm in the library meeting rooms at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). The Sugar Creek Home Extension Club has arranged for a special presentation following their May 20 meeting. "A Girl of the Limberlost," a one-woman show based on the novel by Indiana author and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter, will take place. This presentation is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

* Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - LEGO Club from 4:45-5:45pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). The library will provide LEGO and Duplo building blocks and all ages are invited to attend. Creations built during the LEGO Club meeting will be on display in the Youth Department for a few weeks following the program. Registration is NOT required for this program—just show up and start building!

* Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20, 27, 2013 - Introductory computer classes from 5:30-7:30pm at Thorntown Public Library (124 N. Market St. Thorntown, IN 46071). Classes will cover mouse and keyboard use, and introduction to Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint), Accessibility features, and searching the Internet. The classes must be taken sequentially. Registration is required, as class size is limited to six. There will be a $5 non-refundable registration fee for the class. Cost of registration will include a USB flash-drive that will include all class notes and will be given to participants following the final class. * Friday, June 14, 2013 - 2013 Red, White, and Blues Festival from 6 - 10 pm in Downtown Lebanon on the Courthouse Square sponsored by the Lebanon Community Arts Council. Join us for the unofficial beginning of the 4th of July Festivities in beautiful Lebanon, Indiana! 2013 marks the 5th year for the annual "Red, White, and Blues" festival, featuring live music, wine tasting, art exhibits, and the ever popular, frog jumping competition! Family friendly and admission free, this year's festival features a very special group of musicians, "Joybox Express!" Traveling from Michigan, these musicians "ride" in style as they carry a full piano and other equipment on a trailor, with their bicycles! These talented musicians will be hosting a public bike ride to help individuals raise money for a charitable cause of their choice. Check back often to learn more about this amazing opportunity! * Saturday & Sunday, August 17 & 18, 2013 - American Indiana Council, Inc. Annual Fall Powwow at the Boone County Fairgrounds (1300 E 110 S, Lebanon, Indiana 46052). Hours are 10 am - 9 pm on Saturday, and 10:30 am - 4:30 pm on Sunday. Grand Entry at 1:30 and 7 pm on Saturday, and 1 pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 for ages 13-59, $2 for children ages 6-12, and $2 for Elders 60+. Children 5 and under are free. For more information, please vist the American Indian Council website.
