- Congestive Heart Failure Management Class on the first 4 Wednesdays of each month from 1 - 2 pm in the Witham Memorial Hospital Denger Conference Room.
- Diabetic Support Group - meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the Witham Memorial Hospital V.I.P Dining room.

- Safe Sitter Class for ages 11-17 from 8:30am to 4:30 pm at the Boone County Family YMCA (1025 N Jameson St, Lebanon). Fee is $55 for program member and $65 for potential program member. Developed especially for teens, this course teaches the skills needed to safely care for children infants through school age. This program is designed to promote a safe environment not only for those who care for infants and children out side of their home, but also for their siblings inside their home. A video on CPR will be utilized. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch and drink. Register online at the Boone County Family YMCA website.
- Lebanon Follies Auditions from 1 to 4pm at First Presbyterian Church (128 East Main Street, Lebanon). All potential cast and crew are encourage to come and sign up! For more information, please visit: http://www.lebanonfollies.com/
- First Annual Battle of the Barbeque sponsored by the Boone County Cancer Society from 5-8 pm at Lebanon Memorial Park. This event will be open to the public for BBQ sampling. Twenty-five area churches and organizations have pledged to contribute side dishes and drinks to complete the meal. Pork loin meals will be served to the public from 5-8 pm. The public will vote for the best BBQ in the county by using a money voting system. The event will also host a Corn Hole Toss Tournament. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of the Child, Teen, and Adult Divisions. Music for the evening will be provided by the Sundown Band. A moonwalk will be available for the children.The barbeque committee has 40 entries for the Best Barbeque in Boone County. There is no entry fee for participants. This year’s entries include Boone County fire and police departments as well as individuals, groups, businesses, church groups, philanthropic organizations, and others who feel that they have BBQ talent! Each entry will prepare two pork loins for judging. Loins will be judged in three different categories: sweet sauce, hot-n-spicy, and marinated/dry rub. Grand prize will be a portable Holland Grill that was donated by Indy Tractor in Lebanon.

- Youth as Resources Grant Workshop from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at Thorntown Public Library. Youth as Resources of Central Indiana is pleased to announce the availability of grant funds for volunteer service projects designed and carried out by youth to serve their community. Grant application forms will only be distributed at Youth as Resources grant workshops. Youth and adult representatives from the applying group must attend one of the three grant workshop sessions. The Fall deadline is Friday, October 17, 2008.
