- Perfection Competition from 3:30 - 4:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). Are you fast enough to place 25 geometric-shaped pieces into their designated holes in 60 seconds? It’s harder than it sounds! The Perfection timer will taunt you by popping all of the pieces out of the game board if you can’t finish. Teens faster than the clock earn a puzzling prize! Registration recommended. Participants may share a book with a furry, four-legged friend from TheraPets of Indiana on the first Tuesday of each month. The certified therapy dogs help create a safe environment for children as they read aloud and practice their reading skills. Space is limited and registration is required for each program. - Annual Lenten Breakfasts to Support Lebanon Children's Home with the third breakfast at 7 am at Thorntown United Methodist Church (201 North Market Street, Thorntown). Agenda includes breakfast, devotion and brief morning worship service. This is an opportunity for women of the community to take a break as men do all the cooking! Breakfasts continue on March 13, March 20, March 27 at other churches in the community.

- The Purduettes will perform at 2 pm in the Lebanon High School auditorium. The performance is sponsored by the Lebanon High School Choirs. This outstanding vocal group includes three recent graduates of LHS: Amanda Haney, Rachel Lane and Cayla Mustin. Tickets are $10 for general seating and are available at the LHS main office or at the door.

We’re giving the Wii a break this time as we celebrate Teen Tech Week by dusting off some old-school video game consoles! Students in grades 6 – 12 will be transported back in time by more than 20 years to experience the video game systems that had their parents hooked. It should help participants appreciate today’s gaming technology. No registration required.
- Major Timothy and Tiffany Stoner Visit the Library from 5 - 6 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). In conjunction with the Library's Cell Phones for Soldiers recycling initiative, Zionsville authors Maj. Timothy and Tiffany Stoner will discuss their new book, Familyprint: One Family's Unique Reflection During War, and how important communication is during a loved one’s deployment. The couple will offer their unique insight, as presented in their first book, about the struggle to maintain a family unit when one member is thousands of miles away, serving in a war zone. Maj. Stoner will also address the many ways the Library's Cell Phones for Soldiers program can help service members currently deployed. The nonprofit, national organization, Cell Phones for Soldiers, recycles wireless phones for cash which is then used to fund free calling cards for soldiers. Every phone donated provides a soldier with approximately one hour of free talk time. Registration is requested and participants are encouraged to bring used cell phones to donate. - Y Teens: Safe Sitter from 9am - 3:30pm at the Witham Family YMCA. This hands-on class teaches boys and girls how to handle emergencies when caring for children and how to nurture and guide a young child. Students provide their own lunch. Snacks will be provided. Additional scholarships from Safe Sitter are available upon request to help defray the cost of the program. Cost: $45/person.

- Judge David's 11th Annual Community In-Service at the Boone County 4-H grounds in the Witham Health Services Pavilion from 8:45 am to 4 pm. This year's conference will provide timely information on the impact of distracted driving on both youth and adults, social networking, sexting and other challenges facing our children. Bill Stanczykiewicz, President and CEO of The Indiana Youth Institute will be one of the featured speakers. This conference is a must for everyone who works with youth!

Dr. Max Case, film enthusiast and former Brebeuf and IUPUI instructor, will present a monthly film series focusing on how unexpected encounters in the lives of older adults can become transformative moments. Zionsville (PEACZ) Advocacy Discussion from 7-9 pm at the Old National Bank in downtown Zionsville. PEACZ is a non-profit organization committed to helping Zionsville students with learning differences get the education and resources they need to thrive. PEACZ focuses on enhancing the culture of special education throughout the Zionsville school system. PEACZ is devoted to providing education, training, resources and support to families of children with special needs in the Zionsville community.

Participants should meet at the library for a story or two, then put on their coats and walk over to the Nature Center to visit with the real animals that live there. - Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 7:30 pm hosted by Perry-Worth Elementary School PTO. Family Fun Night is an annual fund-raising event that includes carnival style games, prizes, snacks, and an affordable meal for adults and children. This event is open to the public, and funds raised are used by the PTO to support the school by purchasing supplies, equipment, etc. that school budgets do not cover.

Lunch is included and will be served in between the two showings. Registration is required and there is a $1 fee for this event due at the time of registration. - (CANCELLED) Computer Savvy Seniors Part 1 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). A special introductory computer learning program for adults 55 and older. The basics of computers, Microsoft Windows, word processing, internet and E-mail will be covered in a relaxed environment that moves at the participant’s pace. Weekly three hour sessions are scheduled each Tuesday from March 9 through May 11 and include new topic introductions and lesson reviews. $95 fee must be paid at registration. Manual included. Students in grades 6 – 12 may enjoy some Wii game play and a little friendly competition as we bring out our Nintendo gaming system. For those who enjoy something a little more hands-on, board games will also be available. Sessions will continue every Tuesday through March.
