Register for Zll Showcase Softball

ZLL is upgrading the Showcase program for 2011. Teams will be formed in August 2010 with additional skills opportunities available in the fall and winter. Registration for Showcase softball runs August 22 thru September 4th. Online registration for 2011 Showcase Softball.

Registered players must attend a try-out date scheduled at Lions Park Field #3. Age is determined as of December 31, 2010:

• New times! Ages 11-12 (U12) from 1-3 pm on both August 22 and 29
• New times! Ages 9-10 (U10) from 3-5 pm on both August 22 and 29

Showcase Softball is available for players in Zionsville Little League, ages 9-12. Registration is $235 to cover 2011 recreation league registration fees plus Showcase expense for uniforms, insurance, softballs and umpires. Additional fees (TBD) are likely for tournament participation. ZLL

Showcase softball intends to accommodate as many players as there is interest. If interest at any age level greatly exceeds reasonable roster sizes, then tryouts and cuts will be necessary for roster selection. Try-out dates are scheduled in anticipation of a need to select teams. Team selection is made by independent evaluations. Managers for teams are named after teams are selected.

Zionsville Little League Announces 2010 Fall Ball

ZLL will conduct four (4) fall ball sessions for players intending to play Little League ball in 2011. The sessions will consist of clinics for coaches, players and families, plus structured games for the players. The program will be coordinated with school coaches with assistance from ZLL coaches and assistants.

Fall Ball is for players age 7 – 14 in 2011.

Location: Field #2 in Lions Park. Clinics will be held in Lions Clubhouse in case of inclement weather.

Dates:

• September 19 at 1 – 3:30 PM
• September 26 at 1 – 3:30 PM
• October 3 at 1 – 3:30 PM
• October 17 at 1 – 3:30 PM

Fee for all four sessions is $40 per player. Fee is waived for Showcase players. Registration form/Fall ball flyer (PDF 72K).

Zionsville 10u finishes in Indiana State Final 8

The Zionsville Eagles 10U Green team advanced out of the Little League District pool play. The Eagles went 3-0 in pool play, giving up only nine runs, and earned a third seed for tourney play. The Eagles defeated Brownsburg 8-6, Westlane Delaware Trails 24-3 and Tri-West 10-0. The Eagles advanced to Indiana State pool play and went 2-0-1 defeating Golfmoor 9-5 and Hobart 16-2. The Eagles tied New Castle 9-9 and received a berth to the Indiana State Tourney. The Eagles made it to the final 8 teams out of approximately 170 Little League teams before losing to Decatur 6-3. The Eagles players were Jake Muller, Andrew Redman, Tyler Thimjon, RJ Brow, Camden Collings, Owen Evans., Will Hobick, Clay Gietl, Tyler Milby, Jacob Pressler, Joshua Wagner, Kyle Callahan and Connor Wagoner. The 10U team was coached by Coach Kevin Thimjon, Coach Brad Redman and Manager Graig Collings.

Volunter Applications for 2010 Season

Adults serving as a ZLL volunteer must complete a Little League volunteer application (PDF 220K). This includes Managers (Head Coach), Assistant Coaches, Team Parents, Umpires. The information provided on the Little League Volunteer Application is used to complete the required background check using Choicepoint, a private and confidential screening service.

The volunteer application form can be completed electronically, saved and , ZLL Player Agent, or you may printed, completed and emailed to ZLL, PO Box 544, Zionsville, IN 46077. When saving a completed electronic copy, utilize 'Save As' and name the document with last name and first name (i.e. DoeJohn.) A photo identification must accompany the application. The photo id can be scanned and pasted to the .pdf form or provided by mail attached to the application.

Adults requesting to volunteer to be a Manager (Head Coach) of a ZLL team for the 2010 season must complete and provide an application by Sunday, January 24 for baseball/softball players age 9 through 12. For adults requesting to manage in the 6,7,8 divisions or 13 and older divisions the deadline is Sunday, February 21. It is necessary to receive this prior to the ZLL Board Meeting at 6:30 PM. In addition a Manager MOU (Memo of Understanding) must be completed, signed and mailed to ZLL, PO Box 544, Zionsville, IN 46077.
